“City on Fire” Lights Up Apple TV+: New Mystery Drama Set to Premiere May 12

Apple TV+ has just dropped the exciting trailer for its upcoming drama “City on Fire.” This new thriller, hailing from the creative minds of Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, is set to premiere globally on Friday, May 12.

“City on Fire” unfolds in 2003 when an NYU student named Samantha is mysteriously shot in Central Park on the Fourth of July. With no witnesses and minimal physical evidence, the circumstances around Samantha’s case are enigmatic. Samantha’s night began at a downtown club, enjoying her friends’ band performance. However, she leaves to meet an unknown person, promising to return but never does. As investigators delve into Samantha’s case, she emerges as the crucial link between a series of inexplicable citywide fires, the thriving downtown music scene, and a wealthy uptown real estate family harboring numerous secrets.

This eight-episode suspense thriller, inspired by the highly-praised novel of the same name by Garth Risk Hallberg, showcases a rich blend of music-driven narrative and familial drama. The series features a star-studded ensemble cast, including Wyatt Oleff, Chase Sui Wonders, Jemima Kirke, Nico Tortorella, Ashley Zukerman, Xavier Clyde, Max Milner, Alexandra Doke, Omid Abtahi, Kathleen Munroe, John Cameron Mitchell, Geoff Pierson, and Beth Malone.

The first three episodes of “City on Fire” will debut on Apple TV+ on May 12, with a new episode released each week through June 16, 2023.
