“High Desert” – Apple TV+’s Dark Comedy Starring Patricia Arquette

Apple TV+ has just dropped the trailer for its upcoming dark comedy series “High Desert”. Academy Award winner Patricia Arquette takes the lead role in this eight-episode saga, serving also as an executive producer. The much-anticipated series is set to make its global premiere on May 17, 2023.

The Plot Thickens

“High Desert” focuses on the life of Peggy, portrayed by Patricia Arquette, a woman struggling with addiction. After the death of her mother, with whom she shared a home in the small Californian desert town of Yucca Valley, Peggy makes a bold decision to turn her life around and pursue a new career as a private investigator.

Star-Studded Team

This upcoming series boasts a star-studded cast and crew, with the likes of Matt Dillon, Christine Taylor, Weruche Opia, Brad Garrett, Bernadette Peters, Rupert Friend, and Keir O’Donnell adding to its allure. The series is under the directorial baton of Emmy Award winner Jay Roach and has been brought to life by creators Nancy Fichman, Katie Ford, and Jennifer Hoppe. In addition to this, Ben Stiller serves as an executive producer, making it a strong team of industry heavyweights.

Release Details

“High Desert” is set to launch with its first three episodes on May 17, 2023, on Apple TV+. Subsequent episodes will be released on a weekly basis, every Wednesday.

This dark comedy hails from Apple Studios and is written by Fichman, Ford, and Hoppe, who also act as executive producers. Stiller’s Red Hour Films, 3 Arts Entertainment, and Delirious Media have taken the helm in producing “High Desert.”

Reunions on Set

“High Desert” brings together Stiller and Arquette, renewing their successful collaborations from the AFI and WGA Award-winning, and Peabody Award-nominated hit Apple Original series “Severance,” and “Escape at Dannemora,” along with the comedy classic “Flirting with Disaster.” The series also marks another collaboration between Stiller and Roach, who previously worked together on the iconic comedy trilogy “Meet the Parents,” “Meet the Fockers,” and “Little Fockers.”
