New Comedy Series Unveiled by Apple TV+
Apple TV+ has revealed the first glimpse of “Platonic,” an upcoming 10-episode comedy series. The series, which stars and is executive produced by Rose Byrne and Seth Rogen, is set to premiere globally on May 24, 2023. The creators of this anticipated show are Nick Stoller and Francesca Delbanco.
Premiere Details and Plot
The first three episodes of “Platonic” will launch on Apple TV+ on May 24, 2023, with subsequent episodes being released every Wednesday. The half-hour comedy series centers on a pair of former best friends (played by Rogen and Byrne), who reconnect after a long separation. As the duo approaches midlife, their rekindled friendship becomes all-consuming, bringing chaos and comedy into their lives.
Additional Cast and Production Details
In addition to Byrne and Rogen, “Platonic” also features an ensemble cast, including Luke Macfarlane, Tre Hale, Andrew Lopez, and Carla Gallo. The show is produced by Sony Pictures Television in association with Stoller’s Global Solutions. Besides Byrne and Rogen, the executive production team comprises Nick Stoller, Francesca Delbanco, and Conor Welch.
Apple TV+ and Stars’ Upcoming Projects
“Platonic” is not the only Apple TV+ project involving Byrne and Rogen. Byrne is set to return in the acclaimed Apple Original series “Physical,” with its third season debuting later this year. Meanwhile, Rogen is preparing for an untitled comedy series for Apple TV+, which he will not only star in but also write, direct, and executive produce alongside Evan Goldberg.
