Exciting news for “Indiana Jones” fans! The “Indiana Jones” collection of movies, which includes “Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark”, “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom”, “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade”, and “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” will be available to stream on Disney+ starting May 31, in celebration of the upcoming theatrical release of “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny”. The announcement was made by Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy at The Walt Disney Company’s Upfronts Presentation in New York on May 16.
“Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark”
The first installment of the “Indiana Jones” series tells the story of archeologist-adventurer Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford), who is on a mission to locate the Ark of the Covenant, key to which is an invaluable staff being sought by the Nazis.
“Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom”
In this movie, Indiana and his group (Kate Capshaw and Ke Huy Quan) promise to return three mystical stones to a starving Indian village. However, on their journey to do so, they come face-to-face with a deadly cult.
“Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade”
This epic adventure features Indy’s Nazi enemies who kidnap Indy’s father, Professor Henry Jones, Sr. (Sean Connery) for their efforts to locate the sacred Holy Grail. From America to Venice to the deserts of the Middle East, it’s up to Indy to save his father, save the Grail and save the day.
“Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”
Famed archaeologist/adventurer Indiana Jones is back in action. This time, he becomes involved in a Soviet scheme to uncover the mystery of the Crystal Skulls.
In addition, Disney+ subscribers in the U.S. will have special access to must-have “Indiana Jones” merchandise on shopDisney from May 31, 2023, to June 8, 2023. During this special window, eligible subscribers can navigate to the Shop tab within the details pages of select “Indiana Jones” content on Disney+ to scan QR codes or click on a link that will take users directly to the merchandise on shopDisney.
Disney+ Media Relations and Walt Disney Studios Global Publicity spokespeople made statements during the announcement. “We are thrilled to bring the ‘Indiana Jones’ collection of movies to Disney+. We seize this opportunity to engage our subscribers before the release of ‘Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny’ and give them access to exclusive merchandise,” said a Disney+ Media Relations representative.
“Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” will feature Harrison Ford as the iconic hero archaeologist alongside Phoebe Waller-Bridge, John Rhys-Davies, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Antonio Banderas, Thomas Kretschmann, Toby Jones, Boyd Holbrook, Olivier Richters, Ethann Isidore, and Mads Mikkelsen. The movie is directed by James Mangold and produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall, and Simon Emanuel, with Steven Spielberg and George Lucas as executive producers. The movie will be scored by John Williams who has scored each Indy adventure since the original Raiders of the Lost Ark in 1981. The movie will premiere on June 30 in theaters.
